When Rucka’s Punisher was first being advertised, the image on the left was in most articles. I considered that to be the page’s finished form. When I found it wasn’t, I felt a bit bothered by it, because the black and white seemed much stronger artistically, and the color washed out a lot of detail in Checchetto’s original lines.

I think a lot of people put a lot of focus on the artist alone, when a lot of the inker and colorist’s work makes a big influence. A bad inker or colorist can spoil excellent pencils, or save poor ones.
